The Eastleigh Pool League has been played on Tuesday Nights for over forty years. Entry into the league is £35 with teams requiring a minimum of 6 registered players.
Each match is played over 9 frames, consisting of 6 singles and three doubles.
There is currently one division of ten teams, with a seperate singles and doubles event.
The new season is scheduled to start on the 6th May 2014. The 2014 Season will see the league reduce to 10 teams, therefore it has been agreed that we will move from a two division format to a one division format. As a result, the team knockout, singles and doubles will all be played continuosly.
For further details please contact Barbara Patchin.
Please remember its DOUBLES ON THE 3rd JUNE BEST OF 3 FRAMES
The Chamberlayne 'B' have pulled out of the league as of the 19th May, as they have left in the 1st half of the season all points are void. I am pleased to say that the BWMC have now taken their place in the league so please amend your fixtures list accordingly. The 2 games played against the Chamberlayne 'B' will be replayed later in the season against BWMC.
There have been instances over the past few weeks whereby rules have been ambiguous or not interpreted as they are intended. This has led to the league issuing the following statement in respect of three rules. Please ensure that your players and referees are aware. If there is any doubt please contact the league for clarification prior to the shot being played.
1) A deliberate foul cannot be called if the player has made a contact with his/her ball first. Even if by hitting his ball he pots an opponents ball. A deliberate foul can only be called if NO attempt is made to hit his/her own ball. If the player make contact with his ball and subsequently performs a foul the normal 2 shots apply.
2) If a ball falls into a pocket without being struck by an object ball or cue ball, the ball is to be replaced in the pocket as close to the original position as possible and play continues as normal.
3) If a ball is hit off the table, and does not land on the playing surface, the ball is to be replaced either on the black spot or the closet spot directly behind the black spot without making contact with another ball. It is not put in a pocket.
